Mayor's Pass

Mayor's Pass (Sometimes abbreviated MP) is a feature of Contest of Mayors in SimCity BuildIt. It replaced the old Contest of Mayors Seasons. There have been 62 Mayor's Pass Seasons so far. It is unlocked at level 11.

Basics

Since Season 34 there have been 48 tiers in each Mayor's Pass season. Presently, each season lasts 4 weeks and you can unlock new tiers by gaining Mayor’s Pass points from Contest of Mayors. You can access Mayor's Pass by clicking the Mayor's Pass Icon on the left side of your screen.

Duration

There have been 59 Mayor's Passes so far. The first 2 lasted 12 weeks. Mayor's Pass 3 thru 29 lasted 6 weeks. Mayor's Pass 30 thru 33 alternated between 7 and 6 weeks while the current length of the Mayor's Pass is 4 weeks. 4 week passes were introduced in Mayor's Pass 34: Tokyo.

Tiers

Tiers are where you can get your rewards from Mayor's Pass. The first 2 seasons had 85 tiers, from season 3 to season 20 there were 42 tiers. In season 21 the tiers were decreased to 52. This continued thru to season 33. In season 34, the tiers were decreased to 48 tiers. Each tier becomes harder to unlock and gives greater rewards. The rewards include Currencies, Golden tickets, Buildings, War Cards, Special Items, and a 60% sale on 250 SimCash for 1 hour.

Passes

There are 3 types of passes in Mayor's Pass. The first type is the Free Pass. It is available to all Mayors who have unlocked Mayor's Pass and contains 38 rewards out of the 48 tiers. The second type is Premium Pass which costs $4.99. Premium Pass unlocks the premium reward tiers and has rewards for the first 38 tiers. The third type, introduced in season 21, is Premium+ which costs $8.99. Premium+ unlocks all 48 reward tiers, advances 5 tiers at the time of purchase, gives 1 extra factory slot for the duration of the season, and 40 temporary storage boost for the duration of the season.

Buildings

There are exclusive buildings in each Mayor's Pass season that rarely return. In the first 2 seasons each pass had 20 and 21 buildings, respectively. In seasons 3-6 each pass had 10 buildings. In seasons 7-10 Free Pass had 4 buildings and Premium Pass had 5 buildings. Seasons 11-33 included 3 Free Pass Buildings and 5 Premium Buildings. Seasons 34-52 included 2 Free Pass Buildings and 4 Premium Buildings. Seasons 53-55 included 2 Free Pass Buildings and 3 Premium Buildings. Since Season 56, the Mayor's Pass included 1 Free Pass Buildings and 3 Premium Buildings. All of the buildings belong to the Mayor's Pass Specialization except for those in Mayor's Pass Season 35: Super Services, Mayor's Pass Season 47: Super Services 2 and Mayor’s Pass Season 54: Railway Adventures. Mayor’s Pass 35 and 57 buildings were service buildings while one building in Mayor’s Pass 54 was a Mass Transit building. Even though the Mayor's Pass buildings belong to the Mayor's Pass Specialization, they can function as Beach or Mountain specializations.

Mayor's Diary

The Mayor's Diary was introduced in the Historic Prague: Season 38 update. The Mayor's Diary is a chronicle of the Mayor's journey from tier 1 to tier 38. A new page appears every time you reach 1 of the 5 exclusive buildings in the Mayor's Pass. Pictures of the diary pages can be found on their respective season's page in the section where buildings are displayed.
