THIS PAGE IS WORK IN PROGRESS!

Passenger Trains were released in the Train update. They are used in conjunction with Railway Stations in order to create a Railway Network. After setting up a railway network, players can dispatch passenger trains from a railway station and earn rail simoleons. The more passengers you dispatch, the more rail simoleons you earn. It's more efficient to have multiple passenger trains running at once in order to earn rail simoleons faster and complete Contest of Mayors tasks faster. In order to do this, you'll need to unlock additional trains. Every passenger train has been labeled with either 1, 2, or 3 stripes. You can identify the number of stripes your train has by looking at it's Train Card. Passenger trains also come with a cinematic mode that allows players to travel through their city with their train. It can be activated by tapping on a moving train. There are a total of nine (9) passenger trains currently available in the game.

Basics[]

Railway stations determine the size of your passengers slot and how many passengers are available to dispatch while a passenger train's passenger load determines what the train can actually carry per dispatch. You'll need to pay attention to both of these things when you're trying to increase the amount of rail simoleons you earn per dispatch. Starting out, you're only given one (1) passenger train, the Flying Sim, with a passenger load of 40. Players can either upgrade their current train or unlock a new passenger train. Since upgrading the Flying Sim only increases the passenger load to 48, it's better to unlock the Llama Line 350 train which, starting out, has a passenger load of 160. This allows you to earn rail simoleons faster and therefore make upgrades faster. You can manage your passenger trains on the "Passenger Trains" screen.

Passengers in the Station view[]

Station View

Station View.

In the station view, players can view a railway station's passenger slots. If you need more, you can add more slots using SimCash. Every railway station has it own capacity limits. Each station holds a certain number of passengers and only a certain number of passengers can be held in one slot. If players want to increase the amount held in one (1) slot or increase the overall capacity of the railway station, then they will need to purchase a better railway station. If you want to increase the amount of passengers dispatched at once, you need to either upgrade your current train or unlock another train. For example, if your railway station holds 60 passengers in a slot but your passenger train's limit is 40, only 40 passengers will be dispatched with the train.

In order to view the passenger trains available in the game, tap on your railway station and then tap on the train button (Passenger Train Button) beside the "Dispatch" button. Here players can view general information about all nine (9) trains including whether they have been dispatch, how close you are to fulfilling the requirements of a locked train or how long it will be before a train is available again. Players can view even more information about each train if they tap on the information button (Train information button) above each train. If you want to select a train to dispatch, you would also do it from this screen. Select the passenger train. Then tap the "Dispatch" button.

Unlocking/Upgrading a Passenger Train[]

In order to upgrade, unlock or view more information about a certain train, go to the Passengers Train screen and tap on the information button (insert pic) above that train. (include picture of the i) In the window that appears, players can see the train's number of cars, passenger load and cooldown time. If the train is unlocked, it will show the current stats and the new stats after the next upgrade. The left side displays the # of train cards needed for the next upgrade and the cost of the next upgrade in rail simoleons. Similar to upgrading war disasters for Club Wars.

Passenger Train Requirements[]

Passenger trains usually require you to have a Rail Simoleon Wallet at a certain level, a certain number of Train cards and/or a certain level of another passenger train unlocked. Here's how to access your Rail Simoleon wallet and how to purchase Train cards.

Rail Simoleon Wallet[]

The Rail Simoleon Wallet is where your Rail Simoleons are stored. Rail Simoleons are earned by dispatching trains or you can purchase them the Railway Shop. Players can get to their rail simoleon wallet by tapping on their Railway station, then tap on the shopping bag symbol (Railway Shop Icon) in the top right corner to enter the Railway Shop. The Rail Simoleon Wallet is located at the top of the screen to the right. It shows how many Rail Simoleons you currently have and the arrow to the right allows players to upgrade their wallet using either Rail Tokens or SimCash. Rail Tokens can be found in the Railway Shop everyday.

Train Cards[]

Train Cards, similar to Disaster cards, are used to upgrade and unlock passenger trains. You can identify the rank of a train by the number of stripes on it's Train card. Train cards can only be found in the Railway Shop. They can be purchased by using either SimCash or Rail Simoleons. Train Cards with one (1) stripe start at 18 SimCash or 720 Rail Simoleons and up to 15 cards can be purchased daily. Train Cards with two (2) stripes start at 60 SimCash or 2,400 Rail Simoleons and up to 10 cards can be purchased daily. Train Cards with three (3) stripes start at 130 SimCash or ? Rail Simoleons and up to 5 cards can be purchased daily. Every day there are four to six random Train cards in the shop. The Railway Shop refreshes every 24 hours.

The game is currently testing features so some players get the option to buy Train Cards for Rail Simoleons. 2 more cards are available for purchase at the same quantities as the SimCash ones, but pricing is 720 RS for one (1) stripe and 2400 RS for two (2) stripes.
