Special Items are items that cannot be produced. The Export HQ and Advisors will ask for all types of special items except for War Items. There are 9 different types of special items, they are
City Storage Items[]
There are 3 City Storage Items. They are used to upgrade your city storage. The three items are Storage Bars, Storage Lock, and Storage Camera. You can get city storage items through tapping opinion bubbles, opening gifts in other mayor's cities, watching video ads, finding them in the Global Trade HQ, purchasing them for 18 Simcash a piece, the Golden Chest, Event Tracks, Mayor's Pass, the Neomall and the Club Challenge. They are unlocked at level 4. They can be sold for 650 Simoleons.
Expansion Items[]
There are 3 Expansion Items used for land City Expansion. They are used to upgrade your expand your city limits. The three items are Dozer Blade, Dozer Exhaust and Dozer Wheel. You can get expansion items through tapping opinion bubbles, opening gifts in other mayor's cities, watching video ads, finding them in the Global Trade HQ, purchasing them for 24 Simcash a piece, the Golden Chest, Event Tracks, Mayor's Pass, the Neomall and the Club Challenge. They are unlocked at level 10. They can be sold for 800 Simoleons.
Vu Items[]
There are 3 Vu Items. They are used to launch disasters in the Vu Tower. The three items are Vu's Remote, Vu's Gloves, and Vu's Battery. You can get Vu Items through tapping opinion bubbles, opening gifts in other mayor's cities, watching video ads, finding them in the Global Trade HQ, purchasing them for 20 Simcash a piece, the Golden Chest, Event Tracks, Mayor's Pass, Purchasing them from the Maxis Manor, the Neomall and the Club Challenge. They are unlocked at when building the Vu Tower. They can be sold for 500 Simoleons.
Beach Items[]
There are 3 Beach Items. They are used to expand your Beach Boardwalk. The three items are Lifebelt, Ship's Wheel, and Scuba mask. You can get beach items through tapping opinion bubbles, opening gifts in other mayor's cities, watching video ads, finding them in the Global Trade HQ, purchasing them for 40 Simcash a piece, the Golden Chest, Event Tracks, Mayor's Pass, and the Club Challenge. They are unlocked at level 15. They can be sold for 1,500 Simoleons.
Mountain Items[]
There are 3 Mountain Items. They are used to expand your Mountainside. The three items are Compass, Snowboard, and Winter Hat. You can get mountain items through tapping opinion bubbles, opening gifts in other mayor's cities, watching video ads, finding them in the Global Trade HQ, purchasing them for 40 Simcash a piece, the Golden Chest, Event Tracks, Mayor's Pass, the Neomall and the Club Challenge. They are unlocked at level 23. They can be sold for 1,500 Simoleons.
Airport Items[]
There are three types of Airport items. They are Paris, London, and Tokyo items. Each of the 3 types of items also have 3 items for a total of 9. They are used to upgrade Paris, London, and Tokyo residential zones. You can get airport items through the Airport, tapping opinion bubbles, opening gifts in other mayor's cities, watching video ads, finding them in the Global Trade HQ, the Golden Chest, Event Tracks, Mayor's Pass, the Neomall and the Club Challenge.
Parisian Items[]
There are 3 types of Parisian Items. They are Fashion Clothes, La Baguette, and Luxury Bag. They are unlocked when building the airport and can be sold for 1,800 Simoleons. You can purchase a Parisian Item for ❓ Simcash. They are used to upgrade Parisian Zones.
London Items[]
There are 3 types of London Items. They are Bobby's Helmet, Teapot, and Telephone Box. They are unlocked when reaching 160, 000 population and building the airport. They can be sold for 2,000 Simoleons. You can purchase a London Item for ❓ Simcash. They are used to upgrade London Town Zones.
Tokyo Items[]
There are 3 types of Tokyo Items. They are Bonsai Tree, Lantern, and Lucky Cat. They are unlocked when reaching 260, 000 population and building the airport. They can be sold for 2,200 Simoleons. You can purchase a Tokyo Item for ❓ Simcash. They are used to upgrade Tokyo Town Zones.
Rail Tokens[]
Rail Tokens are a train item. They are unlocked at Level 13 along with the Mass Transit service category. They are available in the Railway Shop starting at 1000 rail simoleons. The price increases with each purchase. Up to 3 can be purchased every 24 hours. Rail tokens are used to upgrade the Rail Simoleon Wallet. They can also be purchased for 90 SimCash in the Rail Simoleon Wallet.
