Trade Depot Building.
The Trade Depot is where you can sell items to other players for Simoleons. It is unlocked when reaching 8,000 population. You Start with 6 slots that you can sell items in and can add a max of 26 more slots for a max of 32. Each slot costs 10 Simcash. When selling an item it will give you a default sell price and you can then chose to increase or decrease it's price. The minimum price you can sell 1 item for is 1 Simoleon or 5 for 5 items. It is recommended to always sell the item at maximum price. You can sell all kinds of items except OMEGA and railway items. War items however will only be visible to club members. You can chose to advertise the item for 12 hours which will make it visible to more players in the Global Trade HQ. You can advertise your item and then wait 1 minute to advertise a 2nd item. This can be sped up for 1 Simcash. War items cannot be advertised. After you put an item up for sale you can chose to pay 1 Simcash to have it removed. The Trade Depot is probably the best and fastest way to make lots of Simoleons for most players. Daniel's City will buy items that have been in the Trade Depot for 48 hours and is advertised.

**NOTE: Some items have high sale value/minute (Metal, Wood, Regional items), but players often do not buy these materials since they take a short time to make. These items will most likely sit in your trade depot unpurchased for a long period of time until eventually purchased by another player or Daniel (NPC). For Simoleon making purposes, crafting items is much more effective at generating revenue from the trade depot.
***NOTE: Total production time is broken down into tiers of items that can be produced at the same time. Some item pages will contain this information in greater detail. This number is calculated from stores that have been upgraded to three stars. This calculation will not factor items already in a player's inventory, received from visiting neighbors, purchasing materials from the Global HQ, or stores that have not been fully upgraded. This is purely for comparison of individual items per one sold. In general, only sell items that you have extra of and do not need for other projects.
Obviously, you will not spend every waking moment in the game. With effective planning, you can craft high-value items while you are away and check in every so often to refresh items in factories and stores.
